You Will Know Us By Our Fruits is a trilogy of short films about greed, growth and mycelial networks. Set in Thanet, each film is a miniature folk horror dreamscape where strange creatures live in the midst of normal people, houses have eyes and ears of their own, and justice comes in the form of mushroom canapés.
The trilogy – Mushrooms, Viewing and Ceremony – is inspired by a yearning for a life lived alongside nature instead of the plundering of non-renewal resources.
Mushrooms – A half human/half mushroom creature is kidnapped from her primeval parent by Anna, a rapacious executive. Anna harvests her body before dumping her by the roadside.
Viewing – Anna’s colleague Rob goes house-hunting, only to discover that Stacey, his estate agent, is not all she seems to be. Channelling the forces of the mycelial network, Stacey converts Rob from his career in creating sustainable experiences for the wealthy. He begins instead a genuine mission to save the earth from corporate greed.
Ceremony – A gang of mushroom-hooded vigilantes kidnap Anna and bring her to a party where a strange ceremony is enacted for the guests. Anna is purged, and the creature is resurrected and reunited with her parent. Hope springs from her wounds.

This film project is ongoing, and further shooting will take place in Summer 2026.
